November 17, 2011 - As rain drips on the skylights above my head, it finally feels like winter. I'm cozy and dry. Thanksgiving is next week and it feels good, the kids are coming home and tomorrow I begin baking.

Scott and Carly were married on a beautiful May day at Crosby Landing Beach in Brewster on Cape Cod Bay. The days prior to their wedding were rainy and cold and after they went home, the rains and bad weather came again.
Was it good luck or the results of prayer that eventually turned into a miracle. I think it was prayer. The power of prayer should never be taken lightly. Besides what do you have to lose...nothing probably, but only everything to gain. It was perfect.
What am I doing now - editing again!
It never seems my writing is good enough. When does a writer stop? You stop when you have read through your work, I mean really read through it, slowly and focused, eventually finding  it comfortable and seamless.
That's what I'm trying to accomplish.

Day 14 - After a short absence from my daily image capturing of Crosby Landing Beach...I'm back. The dune grasses are growing and the fence is more visible.

Sunday, April 24, 2011

Day 26 - Easter Sunday! Tourists on the beach and it is 70'. It was beautiful.

Wednesday, April 6, 2011

Day 44 - Sunny...the fence is coming back into view on the right. The water was turquoise in color.

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Day 57 - Tide out...snow in. The first week of spring brought some cold nights. Someone found their gloves!

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Day 60 - The first week of spring is cold with a few flakes of snow. The snow-fence on the right is starting to reappear. Someone lost a pair of black gloves on the fence.

Saturday, March 19, 2011

Day 62 - Cloudy and cool, today the shrub stick to the right of the dune fell to the ravages of wind and rain. It had been a mark for me when I took my daily picture, enabling me to capture the same view.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Day 66 - sunny but crisp. we're getting closer to the big day.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Day 71 - Cloudy, windy and cool. The temperatures were in the 40's but the wind made you feel like it was in the low 30's. The beach was deserted.

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Day 75 - Windy but it felt so soft and warm on one of the nicest days of the year so far, the temperature was almost 55.

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Day 82 - Snow again but as were leaving, it started to rain, by the time we arrived home, it was snowing. March is a daily contrast in weather events.

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Day 83 - The seagulls lined up across the tidal flats enjoying their morning breakfast.

Thursday, February 24, 2011

Monday, February 21, 2011

Day 88-The Cape woke this morning with an inch of beautiful white snow. On the beach the white fluff blew away, leaving only a few patches on the sand.

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Day 89-The winds have blown across the Cape again. It's cold enough , in the 20's, for the tides to leave big mounds of ice on the beach.

Friday, February 18, 2011

Day 91 - The fence is peeking through again. Sunny and in the 50's.

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Just for fun - On 2/14 and 2/15, I took these pictures to show you the view of the path from the parking lot, compare it to the next day at the same spot. Under the drift of sand is a 4ft. snow fence and wood decking.

Day 94 - The wind blew all night at 50pmh and covered the path so much that I could hardly walk it to take the picture. Notice the fence has now almost disappeared on the right .

Monday, February 14, 2011

Day 95-Valentine's Day! In the forties today and sunny. Could spring be on the way? Naaah

Day 96 - Missed yesterday but was able to go on Sunday.

Friday, February 11, 2011

Day 98 - Sunny, cold and windy, a few people braved the frigid temps.

Thursday, February 10, 2011

Day-99 was cold, cold, cold. In the teens but still sunny. Aren't the clouds beautiful?

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Day 100-The beach was sunny but bitter cold, in the teens. Last night we had 50 mph gusts again. Our arbor was blown over down by the parking area. Thankfully there is so much wood laying all around the yard from the past storms, Tim will be able to build me a new one.

Monday, February 7, 2011

Day 102 - Another sunny day with mild temperatures. Took a nice long walk along the beach with Tim and, our beagle, Mac.

Day 103 - Sunday the sixth of February was sunny and pleasant. Temperature in the high 30's with a slight breeze.
Day 104 - Saturday the fifth of February was cloudy and windy, that night we had 50mph gusts.

Day 105 - The calm after the storm. (I have no pictures for day 106 and 107, the weather was so windy and rainy that I couldn't get out!)

Monday, January 31, 2011

Day 109 - Today the path looks well traveled. But it's the calm before the big storm.

Day 110 - Tim took the picture yesterday, I drove Michael back to Amherst for school. Posted a day late. Tide was still going out.

Saturday, January 29, 2011

Day 111 - Two people decided to brave the elements and walk the flats of Crosby Landing - left. I waited a few moments and caught the second view.

Friday, January 28, 2011

Day 112 - The tide is further out than the day before as the tides change and move through time. Remember Brewster Bay has one of the most expansive low tides in North America.

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Day 113 - The snow came in the night and left four inches of white, blanketing the Cape in a wonderland of images. Notice the beach is changing, we'll be seeing low tides now.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

Day 114 - more snow. Chunks of ice are forming across the bay with temps in the low 30's.

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Day 115 - Temperature is 29, wind calm, more snow has arrived. I've been watching the dark stalk of grass coming out of the dune to the right of the fence, lets see how long it stays up in the coming days of winter 2011.

Monday, January 24, 2011

Day 116...
With temperatures in the single digits last night, ice is building up on the surface of the water. The ocean underneath this frozen covering continues to move in and out, as the tides create weird ridges across the coastline.

Sunday, January 23, 2011

Two hours after the picture under this one was taken, we had snow.
There's a saying here on Cape Cod: If you don't like the weather, wait a minute, and it will change!

Today is the 117th day and Crosby is sunny and cold at 26.5 degrees, with a strong wind.

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Snow has begun to collect near the wrack-line.

The temperature was a cold 20 degrees on this sunny blue-skied day at Crosby. It is 118 days until the wedding.

Scotty and Carly

Today marks the countdown to May 20, 2011. It is 120 days until my son, Scott Struna, marries his beloved, Carly Bowen. The wedding will take place at Crosby Landing, a beautiful bayside beach in Brewster, Massachusetts on Cape Cod. Each day or at least twice a week, I will post a picture of the sandy path that will, on that day, lead them to where their marriage ceremony takes place. As wind, weather and tides play games with this fragile sandscape, you should notice subtle changes to this special place. Enjoy! Hope to see you soon!
